Just outside of Johnson City, TN

Kettlefoot just outside Bristol, TN is a members only club with great setups. haven't been in a decade, but it's top notch. In Johnson City, you've got Unaka Rod and Gun (or Gun and Rod). never been there myself. Not a lot of great options. I think Doc might still run his place over in Greeneville? I can't for the life of me remember what it's called.

I am in the Tri-Cities area as well. Check out Cherokee Rod and Gun Club (Kingsport area) as another local range and for training take a look at Blue Ridge Marksmanship. It's just south of us in NC. Let me know if you want to meet up some time.

I shoot at Spenceville a couple times a year. It is a public, unmanned range. I always go with at least one other person. A few years ago somebody reported they had a shotgun stolen while they were downrange setting up targets.

I have also shot at Dillman and Yolo Sportsman's Club. I almost joined Dillman, but the office that isn't at the range was closed that day. Kind of glad I didn't. As it was I found the RSO had a completely different attitude when I showed up with an lever action than when I showed up with an AR. He was all oohs and ahhs the lever action. With the AR he made comments like, "Why would you want one of THOSE?"

Spenceville seems to be about 1:17 from me. I've been looking for a place to test out some of my builds without, um... "oversight".

Are you north or south of Spenceville? There is also a similar state owned range in Oroville. However, with either range keep in mind the Game Wardens like to come around and will call the Sheriff for anything they suspect isn't California legal. Spenceville is within state lands that are open for hunting during part of the year. EDIT: Fixed an autocorrect issue - within is a word thank you.

Another unfortunate NYer here, but closer to capital region. About 40 mins west of Albany.

We’ve got WPS coming back to Maine this year for another week of training, classes available currently. Can’t speak for how long they’ll stay in stock. July 17-21.

We're headed to that area in July to check it out. Possibly moving there in 3 years once my daughter is done with high school.

we checked out TN with that same exact thought in mind, we'll move after our daughter graduates... ended up moving halfway through my daughter's junior year...

We are just south of the Twin Cities in Minnesota and have a group of freedom loving Americans. What part of Iowa are you in? We also have 160 acres of private land bordered by 1000's of acres of "public" land about 3 hours north of the cities.
