SUPER HAPPY TO SEE MY KIDS’S SCHOOL HAVING THE ESSENTIAL AND APPROPRIATE SECURITY PROTOCOLS IN PLACE. AS IT SHOULD BE IN ALL SCHOOLS!
"OBJECTIVE SECURE”
OCA has nine armed personnel on campus,
with extensive active shooter training
and firearms qualifications that
exceed Florida Department of Law
Enforcement's SWAT standards with a
minimum score of 95% (our current law
enforcement families can
appreciate). Additionally, they are trained in
close-quarters entry and have ballistic
shields in each school building. All security
is trained in trauma and "Stop the Bleed"
first aid procedures. Nearly 100 cameras are
located throughout the campus, including
perimeter cameras which are monitored in
multiple locations. Shatterproof window film
is installed on all window and door glass to
prevent fast entry by a shooter like the
Nashville shooter was able to accomplish.
All teachers are trained on lockdown
procedures and protecting students in the
classroom. A single point-of-entry process
with a student id card scan system has
been implemented. The school conducts
monthly code red lockdown drills each
month using live exercises.
OCA's security objectives are to prevent and
eliminate any external or internal threat that
may arise. Though
OCA has coordinated protocols with law
enforcement, they are trained NOT TO WAIT.
