Brass case 556 is expensive, russian 223/556 steel case somewhat less so. I'd like to shoot the cheap stuff, and I see this in the course description:
You may shoot reloaded ammo (at your own risk) or steel case. You MAY NOT shoot any steel penetrating core, i.e. NATO green tip.
Some ranges, though, hold a magnet to the bullet and exclude any that sticks. Bimetal bullets (which I think most wolf, tulammo, etc use) are lead core with a thin steel jacket under the even thinner copper layer. Clearly not green tip, but the water is muddy because there is steel on the bullet (technically).
