A nuclear strike is one of the most extreme survival scenarios imaginable, but what you do in the first few minutes—and the first 72 hours afterward—can dramatically change your odds. In this video, we put ourselves into a realistic nuclear attack scenario and work through the problems as they happen: recognizing the warning signs, surviving the initial blast, finding effective shelter, dealing with radioactive fallout, decontamination, communication failures, water and food, and understanding when it may actually be safe to move.
This isn’t about Hollywood nuclear war. We break down the real effects of blast, thermal radiation, fallout, EMP, and radiation exposure while testing practical survival decisions in the field. The goal is to understand what actually matters, what common nuclear survival advice gets wrong, and how an ordinary family or group could make it through the critical first three days when infrastructure, communications, and emergency services may be severely disrupted.
