I'm not sure if the image thing worked or not. Not a big deal either way. The point is that when I trained with John and Paul in 2020 I was about 300 pounds. My weight has fluctuated a little over the past few years and settled around 275. That's still too high.
I made excuses for years after getting out of the Army. PTSD, anxiety, depression. I stress eat. The bottom line is I let myself get fat. At my worst, I was over 300lbs at 5'6". 3 weeks ago, when I started taking this seriously, I was 275. I'm down to 269.x. A 5 lb loss in three weeks.
I hired a personal trainer. I'm counting calories. I'm watching macros and working with a significant calorie deficit. Last week was the start of the exercise portion. My trainer had my legs smoked in the first 5 minutes. But we pushed and did a full body workout for 45 minutes. I felt, at times, like I was going to throw up. Felt slightly light headed a few times, but I pushed through. Today was another session and another great full-body workout.
I'm also trying to be more active, in general. I'm shooting again. Going to IDPA matches once a month and local weekly USPSA-lite matches. I'm walking my dog more. My trainer gives me homework exercises to do. I'm just getting off my butt. I'm even joining a Conqueror walking challenge with people from my local game/trading card shop.
I have a great team of supporters backing me up. I need to do this. I am going to do this. I'm tired of having to buy 3X shirts when I used to wear mediums.
Anyway, I'm thinking of vlogging a couple times a week about what I'm doing, what I've learned that week, and things of that nature, as a way to keep people up to date on my progress. If I do, I'll upload them here and hopefully help encourage and motivate others.
