Hi John, I am looking into getting some security cameras for my home to add to my layers of home defense. I was wondering if you had any tips on what features I should look for as far as camera capabilities, hard wire vs WiFi battery operated, recording capabilities, etc. Also, any tips on certain locations to have or not have cameras? I appreciate all you guys do, keep up the awesome work.

I have been using a hard wired system for a couple of years. The system I use is from Reolink. It is relatively inexpensive and sometimes a little challenging to set it up if you're just getting started, but I can check my home from anywhere using my smartphone, tablet, or laptop. I also added one wireless camera to the system in a place that was impractical to reach using a cable. Not my preference, but felt it was necessary to cover a blind spot.
