I'm shopping for CC insurance. I've read a lot of reviews, most are the typical blanket type reviews, 'you should buy this one, because I did.', very little substance, to 'you should buy this one because it's better than nothing.'

And while I generally agree with this latter angle, I'm still looking for something more substantive.

Therefore, I'm curious who's using who and why. Thanks in advance!

I use Texas/US Lawshield. One of the main reasons I initially went with them was they had the ability to add a minor to the policy that would cover them if they had to defend themselves or you. My daughter is no longer a minor so I will likely shop around and see what the latest options are.

One of the big differences between the policies when I last shopped was the civil liability coverage. Some offered legal services for civil matters and others did not. Some had the ability to add coverage for civil penalties as well.

My current policy has coverage for the civil legal part but not any monetary judgement against me. Criminal legal proceedings are covered in full.
