As folks on WPSN, we think about catastrophy more than normal people, and plan/buy stuff (and buy stuff) accordingly. I was buying chem lights the other day and a thought came into my mind: “they also could be fun for the kids”. It got me thinking; survival is important, but the beauty of life is…well, beauty. It’s not just oxygen in lungs and blood pumping. So how much poetry do you own? Can you make music? Do you own or play an instrument? Are there art supplies in your house. Interested in ya’ll’s thoughts on this.

I've found several collections of poetry from library sales for pennies on the dollar. Some I assign to my children to memorize but I have not nearly finished any of the collections I have.
Making music and having sheet music is an excellent endeavor. Most of us would do well to pick up the guitar or fiddle.

Golly, nothing humbled me more than trying to play a bowed instrument. It's not that I can't make the sounds I want, it's that it only makes the sounds I DON'T want.
