John I have a friend Warren MacNeill He and i served together at camp Lejeune then he served our state for 25 years in law enforcement, he has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer related to his service. He is currently going through a brutal 7 week 5 days a week radiation treatment and Chemo once a week. He is extremely weary in the battle. I have been trying to keep him in the fight. i sent him this message a week and a half ago in an effort to bolster his fighting spirt.
At the risk of losing my friend who I love as a brother I am going to challenge you. Throughout History courageous men have fought battles some with no help, they just Got up each day and refused to surrender to who or whatever enemy they were facing. Many of them fought alone. the next time you feel like raising the white flag look around at those who are doing their best to fight with you and support you. Go Home take off your sweater dig out your suit of armor, buckle on your sword and with weak and shaky hands draw that puppy and stand ready to fight. Burn the white flag and sweater. Inside let a battle cry come forth and just refuse to surrender. The generations that follow will remember and take heart at your courage, and weather you win or lose everyone will know there goes a warrior. As a result they will be stronger and love you for your courage and character the way that I do.
I am Wondering if you could write a Note of encouragement to Him in one of your books I would like to order one for this purpose I just didn't know how to get a message in the book from you. I am Happy to say regardless of his outcome he Knows Christ as his savior and he is sure of his future regardless of this cancer. If you would be willing to do this just email me with the order info about the book you have written in. If Not I am still Glad for the example you are setting for patriotic Americans, sons dads and Not too far in the future for you, even grandfathers. If you are unable to do this please email me so I can order a stock book for him. Thank you for reading this and either way I hope to hear from you so I can get this book on its way to him
