Read a couple books this month
Milton's "Paradise Lost" it's a classic, some interesting things in it but I didn't really enjoy it. It's an odd hodgepodge of mythos, biblical fiction, theology, popular philosophy from its time, and antiquated style of poetry. I'm glad to have read it but I didn't enjoy it and I doubt I'll revisit.
Win Every Argument: The Art of Debating, Persuading, and Public Speaking by Mehdi Hassan
Sophistry. Literally. This is about winning arguments with as little logos as possible. This is not Aristotle's rhetoric. I forced myself to finish it because I think it's important to listen to people with whom you disagree. He leans hard left and doesn't until the end really mention how much he leans on having a team to research traps for him to lay. But if you're interested in how especially left leaning people argue, this is worth the read or listen.
