Hello community,
I have the opportunity to join the army reserve as a physician.
I have had the desire to serve for a long time, I thought this was my opportunity.
However, after conversations with several friends / colleagues, here are some unresolved questions:
- The medical community has been proven unreliable (I am a part of it, but not very influential I am afraid...) , how can I know I won't be ordered to do something I object to ?
- The vax mandate is gone, how to be sure it won't come back ? This current vax or the next one...
What it came down to is: I would have to trust the army is doing the right thing...
Here is my question for the community: in 2023, do you trust the army to do the right thing ?
I can't answer your questions about medical, but I can tell you I joined the Air (not Army) National Guard in my mid-30's and everyone has told me I made the correct decision ;) Also, I like the feel of the Guard over Reserves for the domestic mission. Not sure what state you're in, but you might consider looking into Guard in lieu of Reserves. Just a thought. God bless!
