Some friends and myself are looking for some good books to have incase, well you know, we need them. Looking for survival type stuff that we can trust. Like how to do things without modern equipment, and medicine. Can anyone recommend some good books for this? There's so many out there and I don't know what ones are reliable.
Hi Sabrina,
I use the following books with my Survival Science students:
Cody Lundin's books 98.6 and When All Hell Breaks Loose
Tony Nester's When the Grid Goes Down
Peter Kummerfeldt's Surviving a Wilderness Emergency (this is being re-edited/reprinted to be more suitable for college courses)
Skip and Brett Stoffel's (father/son) SAR Skills for the Emergency Responder (this book is geared toward a new Search & Rescue volunteer, but the survival section is excellent for anyone - I teach a lot of the skills from the curriculum with my students)
