Here ya go John... Re; John Lovell HOME Security Breach | Could've been BAD...
Welcome to the country side, by the way.....
Maybe we can offer an idea or two. Here in the poorest county in Missouri, where the sheep are scared. We have very little LE/EMS to depend upon.
On to perimeter control (Of course, lots of friends and family in close proximity is nice). Around the house/shop area (100 yards or so) we use 6' no-climb horse fence (Red Brand). And at the bottom of that, we placed 2'Hx2'Wx6'long, concrete blocks (4000 pound model). This doesn't give intruders much protection/concealment from lead flying in there direction. Locked gates are a pain, but a necessity. We run a minimum of four dogs, they are all rescues. Help out your local rescue. Mine is "I'm Your Huckleberry". Disclaimer, my wife is on the board of directors.
Ditch/trench, yep, that be a moat, without the water. An excavator and some time, your done. Pile dirt/rock to the inside. Depth and width, depends on the distance from the position you are protecting. You do not want to give to opposition protection/concealment.
Osage Orange, plant a lot and close together. The ole timers use this, ain't nothing/live stock getting through.
Lunch is over, back ta work for me. Have a great weekend, guys and gals.. JCKC
