I know the shooting and training content gets more clicks, but spiritual guidance is important too.
Objective truth exists and you should seek it. (Study Logic)
To say, "there is no truth, truth is a matter of opinion" implies an objective truth--the objective truth that there is no truth. So through the Law of Non-Contradiction this sort of relativism of "You do you" falls short in our society. Relativism falls short and it shows. Just look around to see how far our country has fallen without truth seeking--without the order of living in objective truths, man turns to chaos. In Christianity this is accomplished through the spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
The Greek word τό πνεῦμα here is the rational (LOGIC) part of man, the power of perceiving and grasping divine and eternal things, and upon which the Spirit of God exerts its influence. So in return it's Biblical to pick up a logic book and study the scriptures. God isn't contradiction. God is objective truth.
There is one basic truth in life and that is everyone requires spiritual guidance and that is just a fact of life. I met a few guys in my time in Vietnam who said they were atheist and they were the ones who prayed the loudest when we got into a firefight and that truly changed their minds and lives. One that I still have been in contact with has been a preacher for the last 45 years. I personally ain't much of a poet but I'm still a work in progress.
Banter Between a Canadian Military Academic and a Retired US Army General
Canadian Military Academic:
Good day, General, it's good to see you
As a military scholar, I value your view
Tell me, is it true that soldiers eat raw meat
And can run for miles on just two feet?
Retired Army General:
Well, well, well, Professor, fancy that
So you want to learn about the life of a soldier, rat-a-tat-tat
Indeed, we eat raw meat, but only when we must
As for running on two feet, that's a soldier's trust
Canadian Military Academic:
I must say, General, that's quite a feat
Running for miles in the heat
But tell me, have you heard of the Battle of Vimy
Where Canadian soldiers rose above, so grimy
Retired Army General:
Ah, yes, Vimy Ridge, a battle so grand
Where Canadian soldiers took the upper hand
But did you hear of the time when I took on the Rus?
I led my troops in war, now that's a fight so fierce
Canadian Military Academic:
Impressive tale, General, but let me add
Did you know that our hockey champions once fought, ironclad?
During the 1917 Halifax Explosion, they played
To raise funds for the fallen soldiers, unafraid
Retired Army General:
Ha, good one, Professor, quite the story
But did you know that I once fought one-eyed and gory?
In '84, I took on a swarm of bees
And drove them off with just my expertise
Canadian Military Academic:
Oh, General, you never cease to amaze
Your stories of war and victory are but a phase
Allow me to remind you of the time
When Canadian soldiers helped the Dutch to climb
Retired Army General:
Yes, Professor, I remember it well
A time when we showed our bravery, never to sell
These stories we share, they show our bond
Of love for our country, so very fond
Canadian Military Academic:
Indeed, General, they show our spirit and might
Of a noble culture of warriors, so bright
A bond that's etched in the military culture
Of courage, strength, and loyalty, so pure
Retired Army General:
Well said, Professor, and I agree
A bond that lasts, from sea to sea
May our warriors continue to serve
With the pride and honor they deserve.
