Hello, I'm looking for more reviews on this new sub-compact from SS. I have searched utube of coarse and only a few so far. I know John is suppose to do one sometime and I'm not sure if that is a stock one or a war poet edition. Does anyone here have one yet? Thoughts?
Thanks!
I'll be trying it out this weekend and hanging with some reps from SS. I'll let you know my thoughts and if you have any questions you want passed along I'd be happy to ask them.
Hello Jake, nice, hanging with the SS crew... Are you one of the WPS employees? Nothing specific, just how it shoots, feel, reliability... Thanks!
Jake, I found this review on the Sig 365xl comp from FCS and this is what I'm talking about. I want it to be enjoyable to shoot, not super snappy. I'm not a big buy with large hands. I know Shadow Systems advertises the CR as being easy to shoot and feels like a compact, not a sub-c, but I know they also want to sell them, just a simple fact.
Good Mornin'!
No, I am not a WPS employee. I work for The Modern Sportsman, one of the largest retailers and indoor ranges here in Minnesota.
We are having an event this weekend with Shadow Systems and I will definitely getting some range time with them.
I'll keep you posted!
Hi to everyone inquiring about the cr920.
I recently received the Warpoet version.
I love it, BUT, very first shot was a ftf. Last round (tenth) slide did not lock. I have put about 160-180 rnds through it with 3 or 4 ftf and maybe one last rnd slide lock issue. I'm a regular schmo and no where near an expert shooter. Maybe a little limp wristing...? Not that much. I saw a SS video that has addressed the ftf issue. They redesigned the back end of barrel and are offering to replace the early barrel they call " but barrel". Unfortunately, I don't have the "but barrel". Break in period they say is 200 rnds. So, hopefully, it will work it's way thru the issues and be fine.
So there ya go. Hope this helps.
Andy
I've shot it at am event similar to the one mentioned above, and I don't hate it. It shoots very well, even with spicy ammo. My only complaint is the proprietary magazines. They missed an opportunity by not building it around a 43x mag (which means Shield S15s too).
Thanks for those who commented. Anyone else out there have the war poet edition or standard CR? I'm a little concerned about all the negatives I'm seeing in reviews. FTF and FTE, some looked like mags issues, the barrel swap, and the first triggers were gritty? I may wait on this one. There are many choices now for this size and capacity. Cheers!
After we put about 250 rounds through our rapidly to break in it worked like a dream. During that break in we had a lot of FTFs. We've put close to 6000 rounds through it now and it hasn't had any more problems.
I've got a CR920 WP edition.
there is definitely a 200 round break in period
There is definitely a free return for the sub-optimal barrel. Easiest Customer support to work with.
No sending your barrel in and waiting for a replacement. Snap a pic of the gun and barrel and they will send it to your address.
After break in period.....*chefs kiss*
As an EDC, trigger familiarity takes time.
~1000 rounds through it then I modded (can't help it)
Herrington arms barrel and compensator (+500 rounds)
*2 chef's kisses*
Absolutely stunning how this gun performs. Rapid fire groups within 2inches seem like a breeze.
if you've got the money drop some coin. you won't regret it
Thanks for the info and review. Did you happen to do a video of that or can you share a picture on here? I haven't seen one with a comp yet. Do you think it really make a difference?
