Over the years I've been a 3-4 mags on the plate carrier sort of guy, but the more I think about it, the more I'm of the mind that if I really need to don my PC , I'm going to want as much ammo as possible. SOOOOO, I've recently started carrying 7-8 mags on the PC and one on the belt + one in the blaster totaling 270-300 rds, I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it sort of thing. What's everyone else loading out ammo wise for training?
For most of my life I had 6 on the chest and one in the gun. However with battle belts and mag holsters for AR mags much more prevalent, I have moved to 4 on the chest and 2 on the belt with one in the gun. I also used to carry a full mag of black tip 5.56 that i detached from a SAW belt in my left pocket and another full mag of tracers in my right. However with the M855A1 ammo, the black tip is absolutely obsolete. I still roll around with the full mag of tracers though. I also have anywhere from 2-8 mags in my pack on my back (mission dependent)
I have 3 mags in front with a closed mag pouch for 2 more back up mags. Just in case those front ones go missing👀🤣👍🗽one rifle mag with 4 pistol mags on my belt...👍
Four on my PC (single pouch holder only) and two on belt set-up; one in the rifle. All are loaded to 29 as John has suggested. I have two pistol mags on the PC and the belt.
