The SKS is a well made Soviet design that saw some use at the very end of WW2 but by the time production began to ramp up it already was a somewhat obsolescent design due to the introduction of the AK-47 / AKM. The SKS is one of those rifles that combines old world theory like fixed magazines and traditional rifle stock with new age sensibilities; intermediate cartridge, and semi automatic design.
